Action Figure

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , on January 8, 2009 by dumpy4

And what a heavenly pose her figure strikes. But, in case you don’t know, her action figure career was not planned.

One of the things I’ve done wrong with my career is not have a massive game plan for it. I was very surprised to ever find myself even considered for an action movie. I’m like the literary, academic geek who’s not very good at sports, so it was amazingly shocking that anyone would ever do that. I like to be surprised.

I’d say she’s a perfect surprise. The gal has it all.

Kate Eyes Catwoman Role

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , on January 7, 2009 by dumpy4

Yeah, baby. I bet we’d get some skintights in this one! When asked about the role, Kate recently told MTV.com

Absolutely, that would be awesome. I’d love to do that.

We’d love to see you do that too!

Megan Fox is also rumored as a possibility.

Whiteout Promo Shots

Oh well, no skintight black leather in Whiteout. Here are the publicity shots to prove that fact.

Still, there is a much discussed shower scene. About which, many rumors circulated. Kate, we were told, was decidedly self conscious about her beautiful bottom. Or BUM as they say in Britain.

I blogged about her delicious bum, here, here, and here.

A Writer in Waiting

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , on January 5, 2009 by dumpy4

Kate has writing chops, don’t you know. Although she won two prestigious British national writing competitions while in her teens, acting has pushed aside her literary ambitions, up till now.

But now that she has a little time off, she reveals in a recent Self Mag interview, her priorities might change.

“I [used to] say, ‘OK, where am I on the best-seller list?’ It was so silly, and, you know, ambitious. I still want to be a writer….The whole juggling-baby-acting thing has kept me quite busy, but now I’m in my little renaissance period. I’m starting to brew. I’m going to do it.

Brew, baby, brew.

Kate and Her Hubby

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , on January 4, 2009 by dumpy4

I’d say, she’s quite in love.

I’ve never come across anybody as steady and calm as Len is…I’m the one who’s a bit more volatile, spontaneous, mercurial. And Len is like the glue. For everybody

He’s incredibly handsome, which really helps! And he adores me.

That just about covers it, doesn’t it ladies? Oh yeah, very communicative as well, is this incredibly handsome hubby. Modern communication links the separated lovers.

We are insane texters! We text all day long, wherever we are. I can even do it without looking.

Lily’s Acting Debut

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , on January 3, 2009 by dumpy4

In Nothing But The Truth. As most successful parents would understand, Kate was hesitant at first.

I [initially] said no because I thought she’d be on the set, and if she didn’t get it, it would be such a disaster. But she insisted on auditioning, and got it, and had her three scenes with Robert De Niro, which I thought was absolutely wild at the age of eight.

Now that’s cool. How many can say by the tender age of eight: “I’ve worked with De Niro.” Hah.

A Family With Two Dads

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , on January 2, 2009 by dumpy4

Kate mentioned her unique “dad and step dad” arrangement back in July. Everything still going strong in that department. In a recent interview with Self Magazine she said,

We’re a family with two dads. Somehow it all works out.

Lily takes it all in stride.

Lily [walks] around the house going, ‘Daddy!’ and several people [say], ‘Yes?’ It’s kind of funny. ‘No, not you, the other one!’

Michael Sheen (father and Kate’s former boyfriend) and Len Wiseman (step-father and Kate’s current husband) get along great.

Michael had a huge beard recently, and I decided it would be fun if Lily got to shave it off. So we got Len’s clippers and shaved Michael. I’m sure that’s why Lily doesn’t feel like she has split parents. Your stepfather helping to shave your biological father isn’t something that necessarily happens in every household.

Kate’s Self Mag cover shot here. Radiant.

NY Mag Interview

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , on January 2, 2009 by dumpy4

I particularly liked the following question,

Is there anything else on the horizon, involving skintight black leather or otherwise?

To which Kate responded,

Underworld was really special. I do generally find the idea of playing the same character less exciting than doing something else, but I wouldn’t rule it out altogether. I’ve got a little bit of time off now, though. I’m spending some time at home and maybe trying to get back into writing a bit. Maybe ultimately a screenplay would be a good idea, but initially it’s just stuff for me.

Oh please, more skintight black leather, please, please….

Interview here.

Kate and U.S. Citizenship

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , on January 1, 2009 by dumpy4

I’ll let her explain.

I never planned on living in America. I seem to have got myself here, to my amazement, married to an American – none of these things was I remotely anticipating. Maybe if I find myself still here in 10 or 15 years it would probably be silly not to be able to vote.

I’m sure all Americans (especially the guys) would welcome you with open arms. And they’d probably not mind the citizenship thingy either.

Jailhouse Realities

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , on January 1, 2009 by dumpy4

Kate explains how unheroic she is likely to be in real-life, if faced with cooperation or incarceration.

As a woman and a mother, I had a very hard time with how long my character is in jail without seeing her son…[I]n terms of heroics, I probably would be less capable because I would be thinking of the effect on my child, and I’d probably have to come home.

Nothing But the Truth there. And here too:

You feel ridiculous dressed up in a very similar prison costume, and you know [the women serving time are] all looking at you thinking, ‘She’s going home to her hotel, and we’re staying here.

Keeping it real, as she discusses her role as D.C reporter Rachel Armstrong in the thriller Nothing But the Truth.

Paparazzi Victims

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , on December 31, 2008 by dumpy4

That’s Kate’s attitude about the gathering throng of camera clickers every time she and her family step out of hiding.

Maybe it’s a British thing. I sort of adopt a victim mentality in that I can’t do anything about it so it’s pointless throwing things and shouting.

Keeping a stiff upper lip, as they say. Which apparently her daughter has learned to do as well.

It’s weird that my daughter’s got used to it. We tend to have a group of people following us when we do our Christmas shopping or something but we’ve all got quite good at blocking it out and pretending it’s not happening.
